At The End Of My Days
When I lay down my head
And take my very last breath
May I feel content and at peace
Knowing my life made a difference
Maybe only in small ways
But in ways that mattered
May I know my own heart
Fully and deeply
Its longings
Its quiet joys
Its sorrows and triumphs
The weight it carried
The love it poured
And may all those around me
Know my heart for them
Unspoken yet understood
Felt in the moments we shared
Kindness given without words
Presence with no expectation
May I leave this world knowing
I have learned and lived
Not by the expectations of others
But in my own way
On my own terms
With truth as my guide
And kindness as my legacy
