The Garden Of My Life
This life -
My life
Has become a garden
It is not neatly planted
It’s wild in places
Soft with moss and memory
Littered with fallen rose petals
There is rich soil here
Most days
I step barefoot into this place
A sacred place
Where there is a seat
Where my mind meets my heart
Where I cultivate goodness
Down to my very bones
I write notes to my heart
In the dirt
with my finger
Committing to what is good
Even if it takes time
My garden offers comfort for my soul
In ways language cannot hold
But through presence
It harmonises my heart
And tenderises my pain
Inspiration always flutters in
Like a butterfly in the wind
Like sunlight breaking through the clouds
My garden inspires me to keep planting
Keep tending
And to keep choosing love
