What's The Difference Between Extraction and Expansion? How Do We Unhook Ourselves From The Unconscious Pace Of Depletion?

We don’t always realise that we are living in a state of extraction.

It can feel like “that’s just how life is”.

Fast and full and scattered.

A subtle hum of urgency that is always driving us.

Always moving and trying to keep up.

It can feel like pressure.

Tight.

Urgent.

This way of living quite often leads to burnout - and - it’s not our fault!

Most of us live in a culture of extraction without even realising it.

This is the water we are swimming in, so it just seems normal, but it is unconsciously driving us (and depleting us)…….

Judgement or Discernment? How To Tell The Difference.

There is a difference between judgement and discernment and in a world obsessed with positivity, I think it’s important to understand the difference. Especially when we are naming what is out of alignment and speaking our truth.

Judgement arises from ego and separation. It is about making the other wrong in order to make ourselves right. It seeks to protect the self through superiority, blame or righteousness. It is reactive and rigid and often rooted in unprocessed pain……

Exhausterwhelmulated - It's All Too Much

I recently came across the word “exhausterwhelmulated” - a mash-up of exhausted, overwhelmed and overstimulated - and I thought, Yes, that’s how so many people are feeling right now.

I totally get it. That was me once. (But not anymore.)

Consistent Self Care versus Emergency Self Care

I see it time and time again , women that have pushed themselves to the brink. Most of these women's lives have come to a screeching halt because they are exhausted, sick and disconnected from themselves and their own needs.

I liken it to an energetic pendulum that swings from one extreme to another, kind of like feast or famine - one month full of energy and productivity and the next month heading towards exhaustion, overwhelm and burn-out. It is usually dramatic and unexpected.
